For the most convenient modding experience, you can use a mod manager to download, install and manage mod files without having to ever open the game folder yourself. For Blade and Sorcery, Vortex is recommended, however, post U12.3, you start to run into issues with Vortex. For Blade and Sorcery: Nomad, the in-game mod manager is recommended.
For PCVR, first download your mod from Nexus Mods or Mod.io, then, open Steam an right click or Blade in Sorcery in your library, select "Properties", then "Installed Files", then "Browse". When File Explorer opens, double click on "BladeAndSorcery_Data", then "StreamingAssets", and then "Mods". Then, open the .zip file you downloaded and paste the folder inside into the "Mods" folder. Close that folder and launch your game, hit play, load your save file, and you're done.
For Blade and Sorcery: Nomad, there are two ways, via the in-game mod manager, or manually. If you are using the in-game mod manager, all you have to do is select "Mods" on the main menu, and from there you can search for mods, access categories, install, and disable or uninstall mods. Note that the in-game mod manager does not have mods from Nexus, only Mod.io. For manual installation, first download your mod from Nexus Mods or Mod.io. Next you will need to download Sidequest on a computer or Android phone. To do so, download Sidequest Desktop from Github or the Sidequest website. Run the installer and follow it's instructions to set up your Meta Quest or other device. Once you device is set up and connected, in the top right corner of Sidequest, select the folder icon (When hovering over it, it will say "Manage files on the headset") then select either the little Blade and Sorcery logo or go to "Android/data/com.Warpfrog.bladeandsorcerynomad/Files/Mods". Open your downloaded mod's .zip file and copy the folder inside of it onto your desktop, then drag the file into the Sidequest window. Close Sdequest, unplug your headset, launch your game, hit play, load your save file, and you're done.
For PCVR, you can watch this video.
For Nomad, you can watch this video. (Note, this is not the same method as the one I wrote.)
