Before you start modding Elegos, you should make sure you have a legal copy of the game ready to install. If you don't own the game yet, you should consider buying a version of the game that includes all available DLC (if applicable) as some mods may not work without it.
In order to run mods with the game, your hardware should at least meet the minimum requirements system requirements. You will also need some additional hard drive space to account for the additional mod files and downloaded archives.

Currently the game is available in a Closed Alpha state and is distributed via Steam. Please get in contact with us if you'd like a key and to get involved.
For the best experience and fastest load times, your game should be installed on an SSD (or NVME) drive.
Before you start modding, make sure to run the game at least once to ensure any setup tasks are completed.
The best place to go to get mods for Elegos is Nexus Mods. Once you have registered a free account you'll have access to all available mods.
There are two ways to install mods, via a mod manager or manually.
For the most convenient modding experience, you can use a mod manager to download, install and manage mod files without having to ever open the game folder yourself.
Support for Vortex, the official mod manager of Nexus Mods, is now available. The extension to enable Elegos support can be found here. Instructions are on the first page of that link, download files are under the Files tab.
By default, mods for Elegos are located in these folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elegos Playtest\Mods
From Version 0.2.18, the Mods folder will be automatically created. Versions before this may need the folder to be created manually
Place mods inside of this /Mods
folder.
