In this section we'll be posting some assets and guides that you can directly copy & paste on your collection page for installation, uninstallation and updating instructions.
¶ Installation Instructions
It is important to feature a short installation video if possible, although i understand it may be hard work for some of you. For this reason, this section will provide both some general installation videos that are mostly applicable to all collections, but also some tips on how to use other softwares like OBS to create a unique installation video yourself.

¶ How To Create Your Own Installation Video?
With screen recording software like OBS (you can use others that suits you as well) and ideally another video editing software like DaVinci Resolve (you can use others), you can create your own video without much hassle.
Both OBS and DaVinci are free softwares, though you should know that you can find paid versions of both softwares.
Once you record your screen with OBS, extract the video and add it as a media in DaVinci Resolve. Make your cuts and add a voice over if needed and extract your video in Youtube format if you want to host the video on Youtube.
¶ Uninstallation Instructions
¶ How To Uninstall Everything On Vortex
- Delete the main game. Find your game folder and delete everything. No hard feelings, make Steam download everything again.
- Go to your userdata located in appdata (%appdata% in windows search will bring you there) and delete these folders :
Vortex (roaming folder)
INSERT YOUR GAMES NAME HERE (local folder)
IMPORTANT NOTE : This will delete all your user data from Vortex, including all the mods you downloaded.
Go to 'Documents\My Games' and delete Skyrim Special Edition there.
IT IS NEVER A GOOD IDEA TO UNINSTALL MODS. If you do not want a mod anymore, disable it instead. If you're having issues don't just reinstall, try to fix that issue first, it might come back even when reinstalling.
¶ Update Instructions
¶ How To Update
There are 2 ways to update a collection. I recommend the safe way for big updates that are not save compatible, second for very minor updates that are save compatible.
Safe Way
On vortex, go to profiles tab. Create a new profile, enable it. Now add the updated collection version from the collection page. It will install all the mods from it, without redownloading stuff you already own. Your save games may or may not be compatible depending on the update you installed. Always check the changelog of the updates to learn more about save game compatibility.
Quick Way
Open Vortex, go to the collections tab, hover your mouse over the collection that has an update and click on Update. If Vortex asks you to delete old files, say yes to all.
¶ Downgrade Instructions
Game updates frequently break mods and in turn break Collections. To make sure your Collection remains usable, it is best to stay on the previous version of the game until all affected mods have been updated. If you or your users accidentally updated the game, patchers are available to revert the update.

The instructions are currently for Skyrim SE only.
¶ How To Downgrade
⚠️ IMPORTANT: GAME VERSION WARNING ⚠️
If you updated Skyrim after August 20th, you MUST downgrade your game to run this collection properly.
Extract the downloaded file into your game folder, run it, and follow the instructions carefully.
